How to choose a Colibri ink series
A practical checklist for checking printer, printhead, ink technology, colour set and packaging before choosing a Colibri ink series.
Start with the printer, not the series number
The right shortlist depends on the complete printing configuration. Two inks in the same category are not automatically interchangeable, and a printhead family name alone does not confirm a particular machine.
- Record the printer make and full model, the installed printhead model and the ink delivery configuration.
- Identify the ink technology and series currently installed. Tell us if you are considering a change rather than a like-for-like reorder.
- Describe the substrate and finished application. Include the curing or transfer equipment where relevant, without assuming a common setting across products.
- Check the required colour channels, container type, volume and connection against the selected product.
- Open the product specification and published documents. Ask for the current TDS or SDS if the relevant download is missing.
- Request confirmation for the exact configuration before ordering or changing inks. Follow the printer and ink supplier’s approved instructions.
Compare information without assuming equivalence

Common questions
Can I choose ink only by the printhead brand?
No. A brand or family name does not specify the exact head, ink chemistry or complete printer configuration. Send the full printer and head model when asking for a recommendation.
Can I change ink series without checking the existing system?
Do not assume a drop-in replacement. Request instructions for the exact current and proposed series, printer configuration and application. This checklist does not prescribe flushing or operating settings.
Where are the safety and technical documents?
Available downloads are linked from the selected product and the document hub. If a document is not published, request the exact series and document rather than relying on a different series’ file.
